California Tree Fruit February 12, 2019

February 13, 2019 | 0 min read

The earliest tree fruit varieties are currently out in bloom in the Fresno area in California. The recent cold and wet weather in California had been preceded by warmer weather that started the tree fruit crops blooming. Cold night temperatures and wet stormy weather expected now through most of the month of February may have an impact on trees currently in bloom, but so far any incidents of cold damage have been limited to few locations. The crop out in bloom should not be affected too much by the current weather, but the cooler weather could hold back some of the later blooming varieties and leave a little bit of a gap in production later on.
