California strawberry growers harvested forty million pounds more fruit in 2015 than in 2014 (on less acreage) but in different categories than what would have been expected. The processing volume increased for both frozen #1 grade as well as juice stock, but declined in fresh market volume. The total processing crop was the highest in volume that it had ever historically been. The decline in fresh was mostly a result of poor market conditions during part of the year.
