The California strawberry juice stock volume to date is lower than it has been in the past two years. Field pricing in Oxnard increased today in hopes of keeping some growers interested in delivering juice grade fruit. Labor concerns, along with a short supply of fruit, and strong demand, have converged to push field pricing up a couple of cents per pound. It may take a little while to know if the increase will be enough to have the desired affect of producing more fruit overall.
