California Strawberry February 5, 2022

February 5, 2022 | 0 min read

The California strawberry crop is developing well. The quality of the strawberry plants this year look much better than they did in 2021. At this time last year it was apparent that there would be problems with production, but so far the development of the plants in the ground looks outstanding. The potential is there for a very large harvest in 2022. Dry and mild weather is in the forecast for the next few weeks. The crop north to south should begin to deliver larger amounts of fruit as we get deeper into the season. Fresh market pricing remains strong at this time. Volume to date is beginning to trend ahead of last year.
