California Strawberry – February 12, 2019

February 13, 2019 | 0 min read

The California strawberry crop has been affected by the recent cold and wet weather in the state over the past few weeks. The current weather pattern looks likely to continue through the rest of the month of February. The crop is currently running about three weeks behind production in 2018. Mexico and Florida are also behind as well. Fresh market pricing has been very strong this season. There have also been incidents of frost in central and northern California that may impact the crop in those districts. It is likely that fresh market volume will be light for the next month or longer.
