California Strawberry 6-20-2016

June 20, 2016 | 0 min read

California freezer grade strawberry deliveries were close to forty million pounds last week. This volume was very similar to the week before, and it represents the peak of the season for 2016. Whereas the crop still looked strong, with flowers still being set in Oxnard last week, some growers are beginning to remove fields due to labor and other production concerns. The harvest year to date is still running close to sixty million pounds behind last year, and it is currently the shortest crop of the past five years.
