California Strawberry 3-25-2015

March 25, 2015 | 0 min read

California strawberry volume continues to move along quickly. The seasonal volumes so far are ahead in the south and north ends of the state. The volume of fresh fruit being generated statewide has kept fresh market pricing low even during the traditional Easter holiday pull. The demand for processing grade fruit has helped to shift volume away earlier than normal into the processing channels. California won’t have a price posted for processing fruit for another week. The Oxnard growing district looks like there could generally be a gap in production coming sometime in April as there appeared to be very few flowers on the plants in that district last week.
