California Stone Fruit

May 5, 2015 | 0 min read

The California fresh market peach and nectarine crop is coming up on some of the first large volume varieties of the season. The fruit varieties packed so far have had good quality, but are noticeably smaller in size. The fruit sugars seem to be a little higher this year, and the fruit seems to be able to hold up well in packing and transportation. The higher than average temperatures so far this season have kept the fruit moving along in ripening as well. The season appears to be similar to last season in timing and fruit volumes.
