The earliest varieties of California plums are being packed currently. The quality appears to be good. There have been instances of hail this year in central California, but the stone fruit crops have missed most of that. The main problem with stone fruit this year has been the size of the fruit. There has been more small size fruit this year than last year overall. This pattern may continue in certain varieties for much of the year.
