California Cling Peach

June 11, 2015 | 0 min read

California cling peaches are set to get underway in a few weeks. There is a concern about fruit sizing this year in many orchards. The fruit size measurements are running below average this year. This would be in line with what the freestone peach packinghouses have been seeing so far this season. The crop is estimated to be a little larger statewide this year, but poor fruit sizing could reduce the overall volume of fruit. The growers did have to thin extra heavy in some blocks this year as well.
