The bulk of the California apricot crop is being harvested currently. Growers are finding it difficult to harvest the light crop that they have. It looks like it will be shorter than what was anticipated originally. The crop in some orchards may end up being only 25% of an average crop by the time it is picked. Even with a very high price this season the growers will not make much off of this years crop.
