California Apricot 5-5-2015

May 5, 2015 | 0 min read

California apricot field pricing is being negotiated currently. It looks like the price could be set at $700 per ton this year. That would represent a 40% increase over the $500 per ton price paid last year, and it would be an 80% increase in price over where the industry was five years ago. The short crop anticipated this year has been the main driving force behind the price increase. Growers will have to pay much more for harvesting this year just to be able to get the crop off of the trees.
