The fresh market for strawberries has been moving less fruit in January in California in 2015 than in 2014. The reduction of acreage has had an impact on this, but poor market conditions, along with some weather disruptions, have also played a roll in this. Florida has been shipping strawberries at a much higher rate this year than in 2014, and Mexico is a little under the shipment volume to the U.S. from last year. Current market conditions are still lower in pricing for California strawberry growers than they received at this time last year.
