USDA Cold Storage numbers for the end of February show that strawberry inventory is as low as it has been since 2015. Slow production in the field, lower production in Mexico, and a low carryover from 2018 all contribute to the current smaller inventory position. The main processing crop is likely to also start later this year than in other years due to conditions in the field. Demand for frozen strawberry seems to be in a normal range so far this season.
