The processing strawberry crop is running ahead in volume in 2022 compared to the previous four years. Both juice grade as well as #1 grade processing strawberries are higher in volume so far in 2022 than in the recent past. Fresh market volume has also been stronger this year with good pricing for growers over the past few weeks. A rain event last week caused some disruption to the fresh market volume for a few days. More fruit was delivered to processors as a result of the storm. Growers are still cleaning up a few of their fields due to that event. Price posting is taking place today for the first time this year. Prices are being posted around the $0.65 per pound range for #1 grade fruit and $0.36 per pound range for juice grade.
