California strawberry acreage has declined for 2018 production from where it was in 2017. The drop in winter acreage is more the 1,900 acres, with the Oxnard district losing the largest percentage of that. All areas of the state will be down in acreage this coming year. Summer planted acreage is expected to decline as well in 2018. Poor fresh market conditions over the past few years (especially in the Oxnard district) have been the largest reason for the decline.
