California fresh strawberry production is running a little ahead of last year through the week ending February 11 according to information from the California Strawberry Commission, but it is down in volume from 2015. The volume from Mexico and Florida year to date is far ahead of where it was last year, but pricing for the fruit is low at the present time. California is still receiving higher pricing for their fruit, but the volume has been up and down each week this year based on the wet weather pattern in California, and rain will most likely disrupt the pick again over the next few days.
