California strawberry fresh market volume continues to be slow. With a slow start to the season, and a severely reduced volume from Florida, fresh market pricing remained strong into and after Valentines Day this year. The current price range is 50% higher than at this same time last year. The recent warm weather in California should push the crop to produce higher volumes in March, but the reduced acreage, along with anticipated low volume from Florida, may keep the price strong as well.
