Cold storage inventory of strawberries in the US at the end of April was larger than in 2016, but lower than in 2013 (which was the largest inventory historically) according to the USDA Cold Storage Report issued today. IQF inventory was similar to where it was last year, but each of the other categories were higher than in 2016. There is a much larger inventory currently of juice stock strawberries. Some of that is due to the wetter than average year that helped to generate extra juice grade fruit in the state.
