California Pear Bloom 2017

California Pear Bloom 2017

The pear crop in the Sacramento area in California is near the end of the bloom period for this season. The bloom came on heavy and in good weather conditions for the most part. The rain event of the past few days should not have an affect on setting the crop. More wet weather is expected in the next few days, but it looks like the crop has the potential to be set well this season. The areas of pear production in Lake and Mendocino counties are still in bloom this week as well. They will not receive as favorable weather as the Sacramento area did during bloom, but the bloom looks good in those areas at this time.
