California Cherry 4-22-2015

April 22, 2015 | 0 min read

The California cherry crop looks to be less than 50% full this year according to some estimates. Early estimates put the crop at 5.6 million boxes this year. This follows a short crop last year. California has the potential to produce 12 million boxes, but the past few years have been difficult ones. The warm bloom weather along with poor winter chill hours may have been partly to blame for the poor set this year. The Lodi, California area was also hit by a large hail storm two weeks ago.
