The USDA Cold Storage report in January showed that frozen strawberry
inventory was up a combined thirty million pounds from this same time
last year. The input volume in California increased by sixty million
pounds in 2015 over 2014, and the import volume increased by more than
thirty million pounds, but only thirty million pounds remained extra in
inventory above 2014 levels. For most categories the current inventory
position is still below the five year average. Consumption appears to
remain strong for frozen strawberries.
