Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Dust with flour; tap out excess.
Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and baking soda.
Beat together sugar and butter at medium speed until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in pear
At low speed, beat flour mixture, half a cup at a time, into sugar
mixture until well blended. Stir in pear puree and nuts. Spoon batter
into prepared pan; smooth top.
Bake loaf until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 55 to 60 minutes.
Transfer pan to a wire rack to cool slightly. Loosen loaf by running a
metal spatula around sides of pan. Turn out onto rack to cool
