Ingredients
600 g Tree Top Apple Sauce
100 g Tree Top Apple Dice ¼"
113 g butter, softened
402 g sugar
100 eggs
1.30 g vanilla
256 g all-purpose flour
4.50 g cinnamon
4 g nutmeg
3 g salt
2.30 g baking soda
Butterscotch Sauce
110 g brown sugar
57 g butter, cubed
116 heavy whipping cream
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 13" x 9" baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add
eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.
Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking soda; gradually add to
creamed mixture and mix well. Batter will be stiff. Stir in apples and apple sauce
until well combined.
Spread into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until
top is lightly browned and springs back when lightly touched. Cool for
30 minutes before serving.
While cake is cooling, combine brown sugar and butter in a small
saucepan. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted. Gradually add
the cream. Bring to a slow boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
Serve sauce with cake.
Makes 12-14 servings.
