Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease and flour a 9" x 5" x 3" loaf pan.
Cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
Sift together the next six ingredients. Add to creamed mixture
alternately with the apple sauce. Stir in the walnuts and 2/3 of the
chocolate chips. Pour into loaf pan. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate
chips over the top.
Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
